Translucent Colors

Translucent colors are one way of making your project pop. This roll cage is the perfect opportunity to show some of the steps involved in creating these colors.

Our client chose Shocker Yellow, a bright color that is actually a clear coat. To make the color pop, apply it over a bright chrome color.

We lightly sandblasted this roll cage to remove any impurities from the fabrication process. Then we applied iron phosphate to prevent rust and create a better bond between the powder and metal.

The first coat was a shiny chrome. The yellow-green translucent color was sprayed on top. The final result is a vivid lemon-lime.
