Our Powder Coating Process

We begin a powder coating project with our sandblasting services at no additional cost. Depending on the size and weight of you piece, we will devise strategies on how to powder coat it. Our powder coating oven measures 30’ long x 12’ wide x 10’ high and can accommodate large metal objects. And we can handle heavy, cumbersome objects with our staging and lifting equipment.

We use an electrostatic spray to apply a positively charged dry powder, containing resin, modifiers, and possibly a curing agent, onto the negatively charged metal piece. We then heat the piece in our oven to melt the powder and form a continuous, protective film.

We also have metalizing services and thermoplastic coating available which can provide different finishes. We can help you through the decision making process if you are not sure which to select.
