Gotham Powder Coating performs thermoplastic coating services in the New York City region. Like textured powders and other custom finishes used when powder coating, we also work with thermoplastic. Thermoplastic Coating vs Powder Coating

When should you consider thermoplastic coating over a traditional powder coating? When you give us a call, we can advise you on this. Our guidance will depend on what your object is and what its uses will be. Both can withstand heat, such as with a radiator, and both coatings offer a variety of colors. If your object is likely to be subject to wear and tear (like a table top that might be scuffed) a thermoplastic coating will be your better choice as it can be repaired. If the coating is damaged, that area may be heated to allow the thermoplastic to flow and fill in the area.

Our Thermoplastic Coating Process

We begin any thermoplastic coating project with our sandblasting services. From there, our process will depend on the size and portability of your piece. Our facility can handle objects that will fit in our large oven: 30’ long x 12’ wide x 10’ high. We are also able to handle heavy pieces with our staging and lifting equipment. We are proud of our work and will communicate with your throughout our thermoplastic process so you know when your project is complete.
